Rayagada: A woman home guard sustained serious injuries after she was stabbed by some two-wheeler riders in Jaipur area under Chandli police limits in the district.
The home guard, Rina Bidika, was on duty at Gopanbandhu traffic Square near JKPur when she tried to stop some youths on a two-wheeler for violating traffic norms. During this time, the youth attacked her with a knife, injuring her seriously.
Some locals and police standing nearby rushed Rina to District General Hospital and later to MKCG Medical College, Berhampur. Her condition is stated to be stable.
Police have launched a search for the youth who stabbed her.
