Honda on Wednesday launched the new version of India’s most popular scooter – Activa 6G. The scooter now meets BS6 norms. It is around Rs 7,500 costlier than the previous generation scooter with the price starting at Rs. 63,912.
It is powered by the same 109.2 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which has been fuel-injected to make it compliant with upcoming emission regulations. It produces a slightly lower 7.68 bhp at 8,000 rpm, and 8.79 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm.
Honda’s claims that the 6G Activa is 10 per cent more fuel-efficient than the 5G version because of Enhanced Smart Power (ESP) technology and friction reduction technology inside the engine.
The new Activa has been equipped with an ACG silent starter motor like the 125 version. It also gets an external fuel cap for the first time.
LED headlight, digital multi-info display are carried over. The new Activa gets a longer seat, longer wheelbase and even increased floor space. It will be available in six colours, and two variants – Standard, and Deluxe.
