Hospital Employee Arrested For Molesting Patient’s Minor Daughter In Odisha’s Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Police have arrested an employee of a government hospital for allegedly molesting a minor girl in Odisha’s Nayagarh district.

As per reports, the girl’s mother was admitted in the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Nayagarh town for treatment. On her mother’s request, she had gone to get some medicines for her on Thursday night.

On her return, the girl went inside a lift where the hospital employee, identified as Pratap Nayak, was already present. Pratap allegedly molested the girl inside the lift.

Following the incident, some other employees of the hospital found the girl unconscious in the lift and rushed her for treatment. On regaining consciousness, the girl told her father about the incident.

After the girl’s father filed a complaint, a team from in Nayagarh police station went to the hospital and arrested Pratap.

Umakanta Panda, Nayagarh CDMO said the girl was in a shock and was unable to reveal the whole incident. But her physical condition was stable. “Pratap is a sub-staff in the hospital. He was engaged through an agency. We are investigating into the incident and will take necessary action against him,” he added.
