Balasore: A government hospital in Odisha’s Balasore district has been flooded with water following heavy downpour over the last few days, leaving the patients in a miserable condition.
Following incessant rain, water has gushed into the building of Gopi Kishan Bhatt Community Health Centre (CHC) in Jaleswar area of the district, sources said.
As the entire ground floor of the hospital building was submerged with rainwater, all the patients undergoing treatment at the medical facility have been shifted to the first floor. Treatment of patients was also affected due to the situation as all the departments have been inundated by rainwater.
Steps are being taken by the municipal authorities to drain out the rainwater and restore normalcy at the hospital.
Patients and their attendants blamed the local MLA for the ‘pathetic’ situation at the hospital. They claimed that no step was taken to clear the drain in front of the hospital to ensure smooth release of rainwater. Therefore, rainwater has flooded the hospital following heavy downpour, they added.
