Bhubaneswar: While hot and humid weather along with thunderstorm activity is likely to continue in Odisha till June 13, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted heatwave in four districts for two days.
According to the weather agency, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is likely in Odisha during next 5 days. Hot and humid weather may prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati districts during this period.
The heatwave warning has been issued for Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Boudh, and Nuapada districts on June 11-12.
The IMD has also forecast a gradual rise in the day temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius at many places in the state during the next 3 days.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at a few places in South Odisha and at one or two places in North Odisha on June 14-15, it added.
