Puri: Two youths had a bitter experience in a hotel when its owner dared them to take any action after they found a dead lizard in the biryani served to them in Odisha’s Puri district on Saturday.
According to sources, the youths had gone to a family restaurant located in the market of Chandanpur near Puri town. They ordered two plates of chicken biryani. While having the biryani, one of them found a dead lizard inside it and complained to the hotel owner.
Instead of apologising or changing the food, the hotel owner allegedly misbehaved with the youths. When they said they would complain to the food safety officer of the area, he said he did not care for anybody and they can take action they liked.
“The hotel owner did not heed our complaint. Instead, he told us to have the biryani or leave it and he would not do anything about. When we pointed out that the food had been poisoned and he should not serve it to other customers, he scolded us in foul language,” said the youths.
They also released the video of the lizard in the biryani to media and appealed to the people to take care while having food in the hotel.
