Bhubaneswar: A man was allegedly hacked to death inside a hotel at Damana in Odisha capital in the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Pitambar Jena (45) of Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district. He had been working as a waiter in the hotel for over 15 years.
According to family sources, the accused, a fellow waiter, allegedly attacked Jena with a paniki (iron blade fish cutter) in a fit of rage after the latter refused to serve him fish curry. The accused also reportedly tried to destroy evidence by hiding the body.
They further alleged that the duo had an altercation earlier too.
On being informed by the hotel owner, police reached the spot and detained the accused.
