Cuttack: A day after patient care services became normal at SCB Medical College and Hospital at Odisha’s Cuttack, house surgeons of the facility on Friday threatened to launch fresh agitation if the authorities fail to fulfil their promises.
The premier hospital, which witnessed protests following a face-off between the house surgeons and nursing staff, may encounter similar agitations after August 1, sources said.
The SCB House Surgeon Association said in a statement that a cease work agitation may be launched again after August 1 if the authorities fail to fulfil the promises made by them.
It was also claimed that the House Surgeon Association of Burla would also extend support to their stir.
Notably, the house surgeons of SCBMCH who had launched an indefinite strike on July 17, withdrew the stir after a meeting held by the authorities.
The nursing staff of the hospital had also staged a protest wearing black badges.
However, the house surgeons and nurses resumed work on Thursday deciding not to continue with their agitation. Hospital authorities resolved the issue during a meeting with the two groups.
An eight-member committee was formed to probe the conflict between the two groups and submit a report.
