Tiger Shroff
Mumbai: Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff had named their son Jai Hemant Shroff.
So how did Jai Hemant become Tiger Shroff?
In a candid confession, the macho actor said one of his childhood habits resulted in his name change.
As a little boy, Jackie’s son used to bite people, revealed Tiger.
“I used to bite people when I was a kid and that is pretty much how I got my name,” the ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ actor said in an interview with YouTube channel Curly Tales.
Explaining his action, Tiger said, “It was my way of showing affection in greeting people, seedha kaat leta tha (I just used to bite them).”
His friends and acquaintances kept calling him ‘Tiger’ during his childhood.
“Since childhood, people just kept calling me Tiger and that’s how it became my name. I officially changed my name in the movies as well,” added Tiger.
Tiger’s co-actor Akshay Kumar, who is promoting their film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, quipped: “That’s amazing.”
Tiger also shared that his father’s real name is Jai Kishen, which later became Jackie once he got into films.
Akshay was also asked why he didn’t retain his original name, Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia.
“Kuch toh hai (there’s something), but I can’t say… I didn’t change it for astrology,” was all that Akshay would say.
