How Much Did Odisha Govt Spend On Free COVID Treatment? Minister Tells Assembly

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has spent nearly Rs 400 crore (Rs 389.59 crore) for the free treatment of COVID-19 patients in the state.

This amount was spent towards the treatment of 47,055 coronavirus patients, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das informed the Assembly on Tuesday.

The highest amount of Rs 58.59 crore was paid to IMS and Sum Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Similarly, Rs 44 crore was given to KIMS, Bhubaneswar; Rs 34.39 crore to Hitech Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneswar; Rs 32.45 crore to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack; Rs 30 crore to Shanti Hospital, Cuttack and the remaining amount was given to other hospitals.

The minister said this in reply to a question by BJD MLA from Khandapada, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.
