How Powerful Is The Indian Passport? Know The Top & Lower-Ranked Countries

New Delhi: Japan and Singapore have the most powerful passports with a visa-free score of 192. In other words, passport holders of these two countries can travel to 192 nations without a prior visa, according to the latest Henley Passport Index.

India is ranked way down the list at 90, jointly with Tajikistan and Burkina Faso. Passport holders of these three countries can travel to just 58 nations without prior visa.

In 2020, India’s passport ranked 82nd.

Afghanistan is at the bottom of the chart at the bottom of the chart at No. 116, while Pakistan occupies the 113th spot.

It is the most reliable index which ranks passports of different countries according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The index is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) – which has the largest, most accurate travel information database.

The index doesn’t take into account temporary travel restrictions imposed by countries due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

* Afghanistan (visa-free score 26)

* Iraq (visa-free score 28)

* Syria (visa-free score 29)

* Pakistan (visa-free score 31)

* Yemen (visa-free score 33)
