‘How To Murder Your Husband’ Author Gets Life Imprisonment For Shooting Husband

Los Angeles: Nancy Crampton Brophy, an American novelist who wrote an essay titled ‘How To Murder Your Husband’ was sentenced to life imprisonment for brutally shooting her husband to death, AFP reported.

The 71-year-old writer will be eligible to apply for parole in 25 years, a judge in Oregon said.

During the trial, which went on for over a month, it was found that Nancy had bought a gun barrel through e-bay and killed her husband in the hope that she could get the payout from her husband’s multiple life insurance policies, worth around $1.5 million.

Nancy’s defence was that she acquired the weapon to study for her new novel.

Nancy’s husband Daniel Brophy was found dead in June 2018 on the floor of a classroom in a culinary institute, where he worked.

Nancy’s article ‘How to Kill Your Husband’, which is widely available online, explains ways and justifications for eliminating an unwanted partner.

She has written several novels like ‘Wrong never felt so right’, ‘The wrong husband’ and ‘The wrong lover’.
