Hyderabad: The Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma express caught fire on Friday. Three bogies of the 12703 train were affected in the incident that occurred between Bommaipally and Pagidipally in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana, sources said.
However, the passengers had a providential escape after the fire broke out as they alighted from the bogies immediately after noticing the flames. The mishap site is around 45 kms from Hyderabad.
C H Rakesh, CPRO South Central Railway reportedly said that the fire broke out in three bogies – S4, S5, S6 – but there have been no casualties.
The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. The reason for the same is being investigated. Further details are awaited.
