HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank at the IIT council meeting
New Delhi: Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Saturday released an alternative academic calendar for Class IX and X.
The new academic calendar will help students to learn in a systematic and standardised way during the lockdown period.
It will be followed by all the schools, students and teachers across the country.
Students will be guided with the activities mentioned in the calendar through SMS or voice calls. Parents can also extend their support for the secondary stage.
Keeping in view the availability of tools with the teachers, a week-wise plan for the secondary stage (from Class IX to X) has been developed.
Links for e-resources have also been provided along with the activities.
In its first stage, the calendar is available for a four-week schedule. It can be extended further based on the requirement and situation.
“This calendar includes not only general guidelines and subject-specific activities but also detailed material on the use of different technological and social media tools as well as strategies for reducing stress and anxiety in the present time. This guideline also contains activities related to art education and health and physical education. It also includes reference of many learning resources along with textbooks,” said NCERT.
