Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan was floored by rumoured girlfriend Saba Azad’s latest Instagram post.
The actress, theatre director and musician, who is said to be dating Bollywood star Hrithik, shared a video in which she is humming an iconic Bengali song.
Her rendition of the song from legendary director Satyajit Ray’s 1969 film Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne impressed many, including Hrithik.
Hrithik, who’s been in news for his appearances with Saba off late, commented,
“You are an extraordinary human,” commented Hrithik, who has been seen with Saba on a number of occasions over the last few months.
“@hrithikroshan and you are the kindest :)” wrote back Saba.
“Sick at home with no energy to do much else than sing – when I was a smol my parents got me the cassette tape for the soundtrack of the classic Ray film ‘Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne’ soon after we watched it at a festival. At the time I didn’t understand Bangla at all, even so it very quickly became my favourite cassette tape and I learnt every lyric of every song (however mispronounced and incorrectly – pls forgive me) on the album – yep, without understanding a word of what it meant – that’s the thing with music though right – language doesn’t matter at all, if it moves you it moves you!!” Saba wrote along with the video.
Watch Saba sing:
Appreciating Saba’s effort, actress Konkona Sensharma commented: “One of my favourite songs! And your pronunciation is fab!”
Saba replied: “thanks coco bean. I was most nervous about my pronunciation.”
