Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan revealed his first look from the upcoming film ‘Vikram Vedha’, a Hindi remake of the blockbuster Tamil crime thriller of the same name, on January 10, Monday, on the occasion of the actor’s 48th birthday.
The picture seems to be a still from a gritty action scene, with Hrithik flaunting a full beard and dark shades.
Vikram Vedha is a neo-noir action thriller based on the folk tale ‘Vikram Aur Betaal’. The film tells the story of a tough police officer on the hunt for an equally formidable gangster.
The original Tamil film starred R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi, with the remake seeing Roshan alongside Saif Ali Khan as the lead, with Radhika Apte also in a key role. Original writer-director duo Pushkar and Gayatri return to helm the new film. This marks Hrithik and Saif’s first reunion on the big screen, after the 2002 film ‘Naa Tum Jaano Naa Hum’.
Madhavan expressed his appreciation of Hrithik’s first look . He has reposted the photo and wrote on Twitter, “Now that’s a “Vedha” I do want to see…. Wow bro .. this is EPIC. Damnnnnn.”
The Hindi film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Reliance Entertainment, in association with Friday Filmworks and S. Sashikanth’s YNOT Studios. Vikram Vedha is expected to release globally on September 30.
Hrithik will be also seen in Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’ with Deepika Padukone, in the near future.
