Bhubaneswar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted rain and thunderstorm for several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours.
As per IMD bulletin, a cyclonic circulation lies over north Madhya Maharashtra at 0.9 km above mean sea level. Similarly, the cyclonic circulation over southeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
Yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning has been issued for the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.
The forecast is valid till 8 am tomorrow and the districts are likely to receive light to moderate rain or thundershower, the bulleting stated.
Similar activity has also been forecast for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal till March 14.
The weather is likely to remain dry over the rest districts of Odisha. The day temperature and night temperature are likely to fall slightly by around 2 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 48 hours and it will again rise thereafter by 2 to 3 degrees.
