Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra as chairperson of all nine development authorities across Odisha.
He will now be the chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA), Berhampur Development Authority, Sambalpur Development Authority, Rourkela Development Authority (RDA), Paradip Development Authority, Puri-Konark Development Authority, Kalinga Nagar Development Authority and Talcher-Angul-Meramandali Development Authority.
A notification in this regard was issued by the department on July 4.
Though ministers earlier served as chairperson of development authorities, including BDA, the last few years of the BJD regime saw IAS officers being appointed to these posts.
