Nuapada: Excise officials seized huge amount of duplicate India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and arrested two persons in this connection in Odisha’s Nuapada on Friday.
Following reliable information about fake IMFL producing unit at Ergisson Square under Dharambandha police limits, Excise SP Sanghamitra Pradhan directed the officials to carry out raid. A mobile squad led by Excise Inspector Harabati Thati conducted the raid on the unit.
Speaking to media persons, Thati said, “During the raid, 22 litre of duplicate IMFL, around 400 empty bottles and caps of reputed brands, liquor producing ingredients and incriminating document were seized from the spot. The squad also arrested two persons from the unit.”
The arrested persons, identified as Birendra Gupta of Jharkhand and Mithilesh Kumar of Bihar, were forwarded to court. Further investigation is on.
