Huge Cloud Band Over South Odisha; Heavy Rain To Lash These Districts In Next 2 Days

Bhubaneswar: Huge bands of clouds could be seen across South Odisha on Friday under the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The system now lies over westcentral & adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts, the India Meteorological Department said.

This low pressure is likely to trigger heavy rainfall at one or two places in Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri district in the next 24 hours. Thunderstorm with lightning is also likely at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Boudh, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.

Many places in South Odisha, at a few places in North Coastal Odisha and one or two in North Interior Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershower during this period.

Bhubaneswar will witness one or two spells of rain or thundershower, the Met office said.

Besides, yellow warning has also been for the next four days.

Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Puri.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.

October 17

Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal.

October 18

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

October 19

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Kandhamal and Boudh.
