Balangir: Police have seized huge quantity of cough syrup here over the last two days. As many as 655 bottles of cough syrup has been seized.
Police said that four persons have been arrested and three others detained.
In September, Balangir police had seized huge quantity of Eskuf syrup and arrested two persons.
People buy and consume cough syrup illegally for intoxication and there is a thriving smuggling racket involving cough syrup.
Police said that it’s smuggled into Balangir from outside the state, from where it’s then smuggled to various parts of the state.
