Huge Quantity Of Firecrackers Seized, Two Arrested In Odisha’s Khurda

Bhubaneswar: In its drive against illegal production and sale of firecrackers ahead of Diwali, the Commissionerate Police has seized a huge quantity of crackers and arrested 2 brothers in Odisha’s Khurda district.

According to a release of the Commissionerate Police, a patrolling team, led by ASI Rambhabati Barua of Jatni police station was informed about illegal stock of the firecrackers. The team conducted a raid on the house and seized the firecrackers.

Chhabindra Kumar Subudhi and Pabitra Subudhi, who are two brothers, who had kept the firecrackers in their house, could not produce any valid document for the stock and were arrested. The belong to Kusumati Majhi Sahi under Jatni police limits in Bhubaneswar Urban Police District of the Commissionerate Police.

They admitted to the police that they had procured the firecrackers for sale in Diwali but had not obtained necessary permission for the purpose.
