Bhubaneswar: Excise department sleuths seized huge quantities of country liquor and molasses during a raid on Salia Sahi in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Fifteen people, including women, have also been arrested for their alleged involvement in the illicit trade.
According to sources, the raid was carried out following information about country liquor being prepared in the slum for sale during the Durga Puja festivities. The team seized more than 10,000 litres of country liquor and equipment used for the purpose.
“Those arrested admitted to have been preparing country liquor for Dussehra,” said Excise PS IIC Bikash Nayak.
