Balangir: Forest officials on Tuesday seized a huge stock of timber from a house in Palace Line Pada in Balangir town.
Acting on a specific information, a team of forest personnel led by District Forest Officer (DFO) Sameer Kumar Satapathy carried out raid at one Satyanendra Pratap Singhdeo’s residence and seized timber comprising teak, sal and piasal worth lakhs of rupees from the spot.
According to forest department sources, Singhdeo, who was absent during the raid, used to bring timber from West Bengal and supply the same to different parts of the state.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, the sources said.
