Bhubaneswar: Police on Friday seized Rs 80 lakh from a lodge at Kantabanji in Odisha’s Balangir district and detained five people in this connection.
According to sources, the raid was conducted on the lodge following a tip-off about human trafficking. The detainees, who hail from outside the state, had arrived in Kantabanji last night.
It is being suspected that the men came from Visakhapatnam to traffick labourers from the area. They are being questioned and further investigation is underway.
