Bhubaneswar: A police case was registered on Sunday in connection with the death of Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar.

Registered at Cuttack’s Markat Nagar police station on the basis of a complaint by the late singer’s mother Sephali Suna, the case was under Sections 356 (2), 61 (2) (B), 318 (4), 115 (2), 351 (B) and 305 of the BNS.

g Sagar’s death. Police have served notices on the late singer’s wife, his manager and female friend.

The singer’s mother has sought a transparent and evidence-based investigation into “untimely and suspicious” death of Sagar.

The 36-year-old singer died on November 17 while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar where he was admitted on November 14.

He was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, acute chronic liver failure (ACLF), multi-organ dysfunction syndrome and other complications. It was alleged that the singer was being forced to work despite his poor health, leading to his untimely death.
