Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi enquired about the health condition of Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar, who has been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar with acute chronic liver failure and is in a critical condition.
The CM spoke to the doctors of the premier health institute and urged them to continue with the best possible treatment for the ailing singer. “If required, arrangements will be made to shift him to AIIMS Delhi,” he added.
Leader of Opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, also shared a post expressing concern over Sagar’s health. “Concerned to know that popular singer Human Sagar is hospitalized. Pray for his swift and complete recovery. May he return to his family, his music, and his people—renewed, restored, and safe. Get well soon, Human Sagar (sic).”
The singer was rushed to AIIMS on Friday afternoon in a critical condition and was admitted to the Medical ICU (MICU). He was put on ventilator support on Saturday after severe respiratory failure. “The singer is also on multiple vasopressors & ionotropic support as he is hemodynamically unstable and on continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT dialysis) due to anuric renal failure. He is on broad spectrum antibiotics, antifungal and other life supportive measures as per the standard protocol. He is being continuously monitored by the MICU team,” the hospital bulletin said on Saturday.
Multiple specialist doctors are involved in his treatment and are taking care of his health condition, it added.
Doctors had earlier said the 36-year-old singer is suffering from acute liver complications, and has developed multi-organ dysfunction syndrome. And there was no improvement in his condition despite aggressive treatment. Medical teams had described the next 72 hours as crucial.
Acccording to family sources, Sagar has been keeping unwell for several days and was under treatment in Cuttack before being shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
On Saturday, his mother, Sefali Suna, appealed to the Odisha government for urgent intervention to support his treatment. “His condition is extremely critical and he is on ventilator support following multiple organ failures. Though treatment is underway, there has been no improvement. I urge the Odisha government and the people of the State to help my son,” his mother said.
