Puri: Hundreds of dead jellyfish were swept ashore at Puri beach on Monday.
They were spotted near Digabarini, Chaitanya Square and Light House.
Though the exact cause of destruction of a huge bunch of jellyfish is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the impending Cyclone Yaas may have played its part.
The winds have started to pick up, and that may have resulted in the jellyfish being washed ashore.
There are types of jellyfishes which are poisonous. So the authorities have advised people not to touch those.
Some dead fishes were also spotted at Penthakata in Puri on Sunday.
