Hyderabad: The alleged abduction and rape of a 19-year-old pharmacy student on the outskirts of Hyderabad recently has turned out to be a hoax, the cops confirmed on Saturday.
“The girl had informed her mother that due to family issues, she wanted to leave her house. Later, due to police involvement, she panicked and out of fear weaved a false story,” a police officer was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
Out of a personal grudge, the girl took revenge on an autorickshaw driver. “Due to some previous grudges she had on the auto driver, she wrongly informed the police about his involvement in the crime which she alleged to have happened,” the officer confirmed.
The police left no stone unturned for three days. A large number of policemen, including senior IPS officers, gathered CCTC footages from 100 cameras.
After the scrutiny of footages, cops found that the girl alighted in the next stop from the autorickshaw after boarding it. Following a lot of discrepancies in the girl’s story, police approached the case in a scientific manner.
