Hyderabad: A top Hyderabad-based jeweller threw a party with 100 invitees, got infected with coronavirus and died within two days at private medical facility here on Saturday. The news sent shockwaves and created panic among other invitees, who made beelines outside private laboratories to get coronavirus tested.
According to The Indian Express, another jewellery chain owner, who attended the party, also died on Saturday. The host, who officials believe is the source of infection, owned a high-end store in the city’s Himayatnagar area.
Just two days after members attended the jewellery association party, the host developed symptoms of COVID-19 and was immediately rushed to a private hospital. Soon after he was admitted, officials started tracing the contacts.
