Koraput: Hydrochloric acid leaked from a tanker as a truck carrying it overturned in Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday afternoon.
According to sources, the truck was going on the ghat road of National Highway-26 in Pottangi ghat, when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned near Telerai.
On the impact of the accident, the acid started leaking from the tanker. On being informed, a team from Pottangi police station and personnel of the Fire Brigade rushed to the spot.
They blocked the road to prevent any untoward incident due to acid leak from the overturned tanker. The traffic movement on the NH was disrupted.
The Fire personnel started the work to stop the leakage in the tanker while the police were engaged in putting the truck back on the road. However, nobody has been harmed in the incident.
