New Delhi: ‘My name is Arvind Kejriwal, and I am not a terrorist’, is the latest message from the jailed Delhi chief minister.
Mentioning about his message, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh told a presser that Kejriwal is made of different clay and will only emerge stronger amid all the attempts to break him. He alleged that efforts are being made to demoralise Kejriwal. He is being treated as a terrorist and not being allowed to meet his near ones properly. “It is clearly a vendetta politics,” he alleged.
He claimed that the three-time elected CM of Delhi was made to meet Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann through a glass.
“The BJP and the Prime Minister have proved that their hearts are filled with hatred. Round-the-clock CCTV surveillance, plans to harass, you are working round the clock to figure out how to lower Arvind Kejriwal’s morale, how to insult his family members and his party’s leaders,” Singh said.
Responding to the allegations, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari told PTI, “Nobody is calling him a terrorist. We’re calling him corrupt. He has made senior citizens cry for pension, poor cry for ration cards, people cry for clean water and air. He should have known before committing loot about the treatment in jail. Law is taking its own course.”
Singh is out on bail after spending six months in jail in the same liquor policy case for which the Delhi CM is currently lodged in Tihar.
On Monday, a Delhi court extended the judicial custody of Kejriwal till April 23.
