Khurda: A Home Guard was killed and a constable was critically injured after coming in contact with a high-tension electric wire on Sunday.
The tragic incident occured when the deceased, Dhaneswar Das, and constable Birakishore Bhoi were installing an iron pole to hoist the National Flag at Siko outpost. The pole came in contach with an 11-KV live wire. Das died on the spot and Bhoi was badly burnt.
Police took Bhoi to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar where his condition is stated to be critical.
