Bhubaneswar: Income Tax Department officials carried out simultaneous search operations at several locations linked to Boudh Distillery Private Ltd (BDPL) in Odisha on Wednesday.
The raids were conducted at places associated with the distillery in Boudh, Balangir, Rayagada, and Sambalpur. Sources said raids were also conducted at the firm’s registered offices at Kolkata and Ranchi.
At least five places linked to the company are stated to have been raided by the I-T officials in connection with alleged tax evasion.
The residences of the company’s directors and the managing director were also reported to have been raided by I-T teams.
With its headquarters in Odisha, the BDPL group operates in different parts of the state. The firm has other business divisions like Baldeo Sahu Infra Private Ltd (Fly Ash Bricks), Kwality Bottlers Pvt Ltd (IMFL Bottling) and Kishore Prasad Bijay Prasad Beverages Pvt Ltd (Sales & Marketing of IMFL brands).
