Bargarh: A day after the alleged snooping incident at the BJP camp, Income Tax department officials on Monday carried out simultaneous raids at the residences of three BJD workers in Odisha’s Bargarh district in presence of armed CRPF jawans.
These BJD workers have been identified as Md Sajid of Bahidarpada, Manabhanjan Sahu of Sahupada and Gaju Agrawal of Badapada area in poll-bound Padampur. All of them are businessmen.
Mohammed Sajid was an associate of the sitting Padampur MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha, whose demise necessitated the bypoll to the Assembly constituency.
The reason behind the raids is yet to be confirmed. However, it assumes significance as BJD workers are under the scanner ahead of the bypoll slated for December 5.
