IAF Submits Fresh Dossier Of Balakot Airstrike After Satellite Images Show No Damage

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Wednesday is believed to have submitted fresh proof of the air strike on Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) camp in Balakot, amid uproar caused by a Reuters report that showed high-resolution satellite images of the camp site in Balakot still standing without any aerial damage.

The images were released by Planet Labs Inc, a San Francisco-based private satellite operator. It showed at least six Madrasa buildings standing undamaged on March 4 and compared it to a previous photograph from April 2018 as well. “The high-resolution images don’t show any evidence of bomb damage,” Jeffrey Lewis, Director of the East Asia Non-proliferation Project at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies told Reuters.

He has 15 years experience in analysing satellite images of weapons sites and systems.

The report submitted by IAF is believed to contain 12 pages of high-resolution satellite images and Synthetic Aperture Radar Imagery (SAR).
