New Delhi: The recommendation of opening the cinema halls in August was sent by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to the Union Home Ministry.
Amit Khare, I&B Secretary, indicated this at an industry interaction with the CII Media Committee after a closed-door meeting on Friday. Ajay Bhalla, Home Ministry secretary will take the final decision in this regard.
The I&B secretary said that he has recommended that the cinema halls across the country may be allowed to reopen as early as August 1 or at least by August end.
Khare has suggested a formula of using alternate seats in the first row keeping the next row vacant and proceed in that manner throughout to adhere to social distancing norm.
