Dubai: Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, was lit up in purple and gold to wish two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of their IPL 2020 opener against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday evening.
Besides the team’s official colours, the display and also featured some of their top players like captain Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins Sunil Narine and Andre Russell.
KKR’s anthem ‘Korbo Lodbo Jeetbo Re’ was also played simultaneously.
Sharing the video of the display, the building in their official twitter account wrote, “#BurjKhalifa welcomes @KKRiders. We wish them good luck with this year’s @IPL.”
The team’s official Twitter account also shared the video. ”Before the fireworks tomorrow, here’s the curtain-raiser,” the KKR team wrote.
