Bhubaneswar: Hitting out at the Odisha government over 5T issue for the third day in a row, BJP stalwart and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra on Wednesday sought to know as to why it acts like head of all departments if the concept is a vision.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the state Assembly, the senior BJP leader said that if 5T is a vision or ideology , it should remain limited and confined to that.
“Why is it acting like the head of all departments. How is it bossing around and acting as head of all others?” asked Jayanarayan as he contunued his tirade against the state government and 5T initiative for the third consecutive day.
Earlier on Tuesday, BJD legislator and former Minister Arun Sahu had hit back at Jayanarayan for repeatedly raising the issue saying 5T is Odisha’s vision of development and a progressive movement. For this, the Central Government has also praised the 5T initiatives, he had said.
Stating that legislature, executie and judiciary are answerable to each other as per the constitutional arrangement, the senior BJP leader sought to know as to whom 5T is accountable.
“To whom is 5T accoutable? Is it above all?” Jayanaray wondered, seeking a clarification from the state government on the issue.
Reacting sharply to Jayanarayan’s remarks, BJD MLA and former Minister Amar Satpathy alleged that the BJP leader seemed to have been haunted by the ‘ghost’ of 5T. He said Jayanarayan should waste valuable time of the House by repeatedly raising 5T issue.
It may be noted that Jayanarayan has been raising 5T issue since Monday questioning the rationale behind the initiative and its relevance in an administrative set up.
