If Manish Sisodia Joins BJP Today, He’ll Be Released Tomorrow: Kejriwal

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been going hammer and tongs at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since the arrest of Manish Sisodia three days ago.

On Wednesday, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal took another jibe at the saffron party.

“If Manish Sisodia joins BJP today, won’t he be released tomorrow?” Kejriwal posed.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Sisodia on Sunday evening after 8 hours of questioning on the Delhi liquor policy case. A Delhi court has granted CBI 5-day custody of Sisodia.

Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, who was arrested by Enforcement Directorate in May last year, on Tuesday resigned as ministers in the Kejriwal cabinet.

“All cases (against Sisodia) will be withdrawn… If Satyendar Jain joins BJP today, all cases will be withdrawn and he’d be released from jail tomorrow. Issue isn’t corruption but to stop work and send CBI-ED after opposition,” Kejriwal said after meeting AAP MLAs and councillors.

Defending Sisodia and Jain, Kejriwal said: “Two people who brought laurels to India have been jailed by PM Modi. Excise policy was an excuse… there was no scam. Sisodia was arrested as he did good work in education… Jain was arrested as he did good work in health.”
