Mumbai: Bollywood actor Mallika Sherawat is grabbing attention with her candid remarks and sassy personality on Karan Johar’s reality show ‘The Traitors Season 2’.
The actor recently found herself at the centre of a fashion-related controversy after Shalini Passi questioned her claim about wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress on the show.
Mallika has now responded to Shalini’s remark with a cheeky video, suggesting that her glamour may have sparked some jealousy.
Mallika took to Instagram on Saturday and shared a video addressing the discussion around her green dress on ‘The Traitors Season 2’.
“Hello guys, we need to address the most important issue right now – my green dress. Mujhe toh realise hi nahi huwa ki meri dress itna bada topic of discussion ban jayegi (I didn’t even realise that my dress would become such a big topic of discussion). If my dress, my figure, my glamour is causing a little bit of jealousy, I understand. Enjoy!” she said.
She captioned the video, “Dress meri, discussion sabka (My dress and everyone is discussing it).”
Fans were quick to praise Mallika’s response, with several supporting the actor and applauding her confidence.
One fan commented, “You are too good! You are already a brand, your dress doesn’t need a label. And a woman should empower another woman, not comment on her dress.”
Another wrote, “I also want to be chatpati diva like her coz this life is cruel and only this diva energy can save me.”
A third fan commented, “Yes @mallikasherawat right, people are jealous of you and obsessed with you.”
Another fan added, “You’re queen with or without Dolce.”
During an episode, Mallika revealed that she had chosen a green Dolce dress for the day.
Shalini later discussed the outfit with the other contestants and questioned Mallika’s claim.
She said she had worn a green-and-gold Dolce dress just a week earlier and felt Mallika’s outfit did not look like one from the brand.
Shalini also said she had been wearing designer creations since she was 17 or 18, including custom-made pieces, and mentioned labels such as Versace and Elie Saab.
