Bhubaneswar: Akhil Kumar Mishra, a 1999-batch Indian Information Service (IIS) officer, on Monday took charge as Additional Director General of Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Bhubaneswar, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
He will also serve as the Additional Press Registrar General of Odisha state. Apart from this, he will hold the additional charge of Jharkhand region, a PIB release said.
Mishra has earlier served in several key positions in All India Radio, Doordarshan, Central Board of Film Certification, PIB and CBC. He has also travelled to the University of Berkeley and Maryland in the USA and Queensland in Australia as a researcher. His poetic works have also been received widely by the readers.
