Bhubaneswar: Police on Wednesday busted an illegal firearms manufacturing unit near Damanbhuin village under Jankia Tehsil in Khurda district and arrested two persons.
Informing about the raid, Khurda SP Alekh Chandra Pahi said the arms were being manufactured in an abandoned house in a forest near the village. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the area and seized 3 country-made pistols and 6 rounds of live bullets, besides other materials from the house.
The accused are Dilip Kumar Das of Narendrapur village under Banpur block and Trilochan Behera of Langaleswar village under Khallikote block of Ganjam district.
Khurda SP said over 25 cases have been registered against the two accused at various police stations.
