Phulbani: A gun manufacturing unit was unearthed by the police in Raikia area of Odisha’s Kandhamal district. Police also arrested a man for allegedly manufacturing country-made guns.
As per information, police seized a country-made gun and ingredients for manufacturing from the possession of the accused, identified as Munibar Mallick of Rasiguda village.
Sources said the illegal unit was unearthed after a team of police personnel conducted raid at the unit following a tip-off.
Notably, police had also arrested Munibar in 2019 on the same charges and sent him to jail. After being released from jail, he again got into the gun manufacturing business and trafficking guns to other districts.
