Sambalpur: Police nabbed an illegal gun trader during simultaneous raids in Sambalpur district on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Deepak Yadav.
Four foreign-made guns, two bullets and Rs 4,200 in cash were seized from Yadav’s possession.
According to Sambalpur SDPO Mihir Panda, the accused used to illegally sell guns at different places in the state. A number of criminal cases are pending against him, Panda said.
In a separate incident, a group of unknown miscreants attacked one Surath Bhoi, a resident of Gaibahal village, with sharp weapons and looted Rs 11,000 at Sinkhaman in Balangir district.
A complaint in this regard has been lodged by the victim at Sadar police station.
