Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has warned owners and builders of residential and commercial establishments who have erected iron structures for advertising and mobile phone towers on rooftops without permission.
The BMC warned them to remove the unauthorised structures within a month failing which action will be taken against them.
In a notice issued on September 23, the BMC said that such unauthorised structures on rooftops create obstacles for aircraft and increases the obstacle clearance altitude for landing aircraft. Besides, as Bhubaneswar is cyclone-prone, such structures pose a danger to public safety, the civic body said.
The civic body grants permission to erect mobile phone towers only after 17 conditions are met.
