Illegal Liquor Racket Busted, 5 Arrested In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday busted an illegal liquor unit at Salia Sahi here and arrested five persons in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a house and recovered 30 drums containing spurious country-made liquor.

The accused persons used to bring spurious and cheap liquor from different places, fill them in bottles of branded liquor and sell those at a higher rate, police sources said.

The gang has been running the business at this place for a couple of months. The arrested persons are being questioned to know details about the source from where they used to procure the liquor and involvement of other people in the racket, the sources added.
