Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorm in Odisha over the next five days and issued yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning on May 23, 24 and 25 for several districts.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Rayagada and Kandhamal.
May 22 (8.30 am) to May 23 (8.30 am)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati.
May 23 (8.30 am) to May 24 (8.30 am)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Bargarh and Jharsuguda.
Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda and Puri.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal.
Maximum temperature likely to rise slightly by about 2 degrees Celsius at a few places during the next 24 hours and will be above normal by 2-3 degrees Celsius at many places during next 3-4 days.
