Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in several districts of Odisha on Sunday.
In its evening bulletin on Saturday, the regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Rayagada and Koraput districts while dry weather is very likely to prevail in rest of the districts of Odisha on Sunday.
It said the trough in westerlies now runs from north Bihar to South Interior Karnataka across Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana and North Interior Karnataka between 5.8 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level.
Meanwhile, maximum temperature observed appreciable fall at one or two places in North Odisha and South
Interior Odisha due to rainfall. Light to moderate rainfall occurred at one or two places in Bargarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Sonepur and Mayurbhanj in the last 24 hours.
Khajuripada in Kandhamal recorded maximum 3 mm ranfall, followed by Papadahandi (Nabarangpur) 2 mm, Kotagarh (Kandhamal) 2 mm, Dabugan (Nabarangpur) 2 mm, Daringibadi (Kandhamal) 1 mm and Chakapad (Kandhamal) 1 mm.
