Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast thunderstorm in several districts of Odisha for next three days.
In its evening bulletin, the IMD said light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places
in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Balangir, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Nuapada, Sonepur, Gajapati and Ganjam districts in next 12 hours.
The IMD has also issued yellow warning for several districts which would witness thunderstorm with lightning for next three days.
Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.05.2022):
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2022):
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal.
Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 20.05.2022):
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or
two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore, Boudh, Bhadrak, Jajpur.
